WWII Era Original US Army Air Force Bailout Folding Machete Survival Knife w/Guard - Marked: Cattaragus U. This machete still has the original blade guard. Most of these are guards are normally missing. The blade is bright, one spot of minor pitting. One small nick in the blade.

Some discoloration of the blade. The blade is marked: Cattaragus, U. The blade is 10" long, with an overall lenght of 15 1/2". This machete was adopted in October 1942 for the B-4 Emergency Bail Out Kit, usually attached to the parachute harness. Cole Book, "The Best of US Military Knifes, Bayonets and Machetes" page #196.
