WWii JAPANESE ARMY AIR original period items. Two partial photographs and four Data Plates recovered from the crash site of a Japanese "Zero" in New Guinea. The plane was Mitsubishi Zero A6M3 Model 22, the 353rd A6M3 made by Mitsubishi in 1943, assigned to the 204th Kökütal with tail code T2-157, a carrier model with folding wingtips.

The plane may have operated from Buin Airfield in the South Pacific. The data plates, from top to bottom in the listing photo, measure 7mm x 23mm, 6mm x 37mm, 10mm x 77mm, 10mm x 56mm. The top data plate pertains to inspection, the second to the style of the plane, and the third and fourth would indicate month-date-and year.

The two partial monochrome photographs also recovered from the crash site show military personnel. The pilot may have torn away his own image in the photos to prevent subsequent identification if captured. Overall dimensions: 4-1/2 x 6" and 1-1/2" x 2. Condition is Used showing expected wartime period wear.
