Hendricks Field was created at the start of WWII in 1941 and was decommissioned shortly after the end of the war. I think this yearbook would have been of the first graduating class from what appears to have been primarily a bomber training program. I get a The book also features an all black squadron, The 25th Aviation Squadron.

The embossed American Eagle on the cover is incredible. I don't know how many of these albums/yearbooks were produced but it's a must have for any descendant/family member of these brave airman. This is a remarkable snapshot of the United States military efforts to train bomber pilots for WWII. I'm sure if someone had the time to research these squadrons you would find some who participated in some of the most historical bombing missions of the war. I will try to look up any relatives if possible but there are so many guys pictured in this book I could easily overlook them.

The following squadrons are listed: The 76th, The 87th, The 449th, The 450th, The 451st, The 452nd, The 453rd, The 1035th, The 1036th, The 1039th Guard Squadron, 309th Band, 4th Weather Squadron, the 25th Aviation Squadron (all black) and the 950th Quartermaster Detachment (also all black), Medical Detachment including one all black detachment, The 907th Quartermaster Detachment, The 851st Ordinance Company, and The 856th Signal Company. The cover has some wear, especially the back. There is some water damage to the pages but no pages are stuck together.
