From the Worldwide Disneyana Specialists of Saturday's Toys.. Item: Bombs Away magazine / Victorville Army Airfield; Walt Disney Insignia. Description: The cover of this historic WWII newsletter features Donald Duck, suddenly becoming the authorized representative on behalf of the Victorville Army Airfield (later known as George Air Force Base); active military installation in the Mojave Desert from 1941 thru 1992. While the art is normally credited to the Walt Disney Studio (Burbank, California) under the direction of Hank Porter...

The original inspiration for this illustration actually came from Army Field Officer William S. Koenig (1919 - 2010) during a campaign launched at this Army Base in Victorville, California. The illustrations and articles detail the importance of the work being conducted... And chronicle the process of approval before an Army base "insignia" could be approved... Personally displayed by Walt Disney, himself!

In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers). Oh, let's go fly a kite! This usually works most effectively when combining flat paper items postcards, newsletters, ephemera, etc.

We are now accepting select consignments of interest to our network of domestic and international collectors. We offer a sliding scale of consignment proceeds that are based on the sale price of each item, with each sale earning consignors 50% to 70% of the net sales price.
