This is an extremely fine World War II Army Air Corps Flight Surgeon's wing that is in excellent condition. The wing is full size and measures 3 inches from wing tip to wing tip and is of solid construction. It well struck and exhibits crisp detail.
The caduceus is applied as a separate piece to the center of the wing. The reverse is maker marked with the early'AMICO' in the shield logo lightly struck in the center. Below this is marked'STERLING' and'+1/20 10k'.
The swing pin and roller locking catch are both present and remain fully functional. The gilt finish is with a light age tone giving the wing a truly attractive appearance. It remains an exceptionally fine and attractive example in excellent, undamaged condition.
