This is an original WW2 period Ike jacket which has been badged using modern reproduction insignia to represent a pilot from the 8. The jacket has been used for 1940's events / dances etc. The reproduction insignia includes a beautiful bullion English early style. Stubby' wing pattern patch, clutch back pilot's wings on a blue combat patch.
The ribbons are sewn in the British style and include the DFC (1 OLC), Air Medal (3 OLC) and the EAME (1 campaign star). The rank is that of a Major. Also in gold bullion thread.
ALL OF THEINSIGNIA IS REPRODUCTION AND THEREFORE NOT ORIGINAL TO THE JACKET. The jacket is in very good overall condition in a good wearable size. The buttons and waist adjuster buckles function perfectly.
Lining is intact with no rips / wear. There are a few moth nips / tracks to the elastique fabric mostly on the rear and inner right sleeve (see photos). Approximate and taken from outside of garment. Chest (armpit to armpit): 21" (40").Shoulder (across back): 19.5. Sleeve length (shoulder seamto cuff end): 25.
