These mittens feature green leather palms, a covering of wolf or wolverines fur, are lined with a olive green wool and have cuffs trimmed with brown leather. A long neck cord connects the two mitts allowing the wearer to easily remove them without the fear of loss. This pair is in excellent condition and bears the original inspection stamp on the thumbs noting this pair was issued from the Seattle Quartermaster Depot.
This pair of gloves is in excellent condition, and look to either have never been used, or very rarely. The leather is soft and plyable and the fur is clean, and shows no hair loss. Original interior tag marks these as size. These mittens were originally issued to members of the US Army Air Corps who flew relief missions above the arctic circle.
The inside of the thumb of the left hand glove is stamped Inspector No. 19 QMC Seattle General Depot, Identifying the Quartermaster Corps Depot from which the mittens originated. These are meant to go over your base gloves.
