(J332) For sale here is a named and heavily worn US WW2 Army Air Corps 8. Air Force Medical Officer's Pinks Overcoat. The coat appears to be named to Jas.
The overcoat features a hand sewn British made silk 8. Air Force patch on the left shoulder, mismatched Captain's rank on the epaulettes(1 Sterling 1 Meyer Shold R Form, both pin back), and clutch back US & Medical Officer's Insignia with flat clutches on the collar. The coat is complete with all matched buttons and belt with buckle. This coat shows HEAVY wear and soiling with period repairs, piques, and small holes. The coat has not been cleaned, and this would help, but there will still be cuff wear, repairs, heavy wear to the front, damage to the inside of the coat, and an overall heavily worn condition. This has not been abused, but it was worn a ton! The coat does not have a maker's tag, but there is a Union label. This could make for a nice research project and this is a rare uniform piece. The measurements are below for your convenience. Top to Bottom(W/ Collar): 48. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Please take a look at my other great items!
