AERO LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET B6 WW2 1940s Army Air Force Mechanic Section 3 Rare! Very scarce rare mechanics flight jacket by aero leather company, beacon, ny.
Property Air Force, us army. Also anther tag attached that reads FALO. Pennsylvania salt manufacturing company Philadelphia. Jacket is in good condition for the age!As tag reads it's dated 1943. There is some issues to talk about the cuffs are both a little fragile but still have all the snaps attached but very delicately hanging on. Second the shoulder epaulets are attached but the snaps have come apart from the leather. The zipper is intact but the bottom piece has a little split in it I have tried to zip it and it will zip up but very fragile the talon bell zipper has some oxidation but intact both parts of the zipper bottom have a slight split in the link so it's tough to zip it up.
This is a very rare jacket but not a daily driver per say. It's all there and would be a great display piece for your collection! Inside shearling is in good condition for age as well some wear but damage. Outside leather has a little wear sleeves have more wear than front or back but not to dry or brittle it still had some life left in it! So to be clear this is not something I would recommend wearing although it's in good condition these type of jackets are still fragile.
Leather chin strap and buckle closure is still attached and in good condition. I would say this is a very clean and rare example of the iconic b6 jacket wore by mostly by mechanics during the war. The jacket is also named to MURRAY on the outer side pocket bag it reads SEC III 44-46 must of been worn during this time by Murray.
