Army/ Army Air Corps M-8 Pyrotechnic Flare Launcher, manufactured by CECV in 1943, along with ultra-rare Leather Holster and 2 original unfired Flares, in Excellent Condition. This Flare Launcher was introduced in 1942, to be issued to Army units and air crews, and was used extensively during WW2 and Korean War. It has locking lugs on the barrel, that were fitted into an opening in an airplane fuselage. This particular M-8 is in excellent condition, with most of the original shiny black finish intact.
The serial number E-084563 is marked on the back of the Handle, and P with the Ordnance Symbol is marked on the bottom of the Handle. The side of the receiver is marked CECV/ 1943/ U. Property/ Pistol Pyrotechnic M-8, within a triangle.The black plastic grips are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. This device is fully functional, and in excellent condition. It is not a firearm. Also included is the original Leather Holster, in excellent condition, with strap and all stitching intact. There are also 2 original unfired Flares, one dated 1942 and one dated 1943. One flare is metal, and one is cardboard. It is extremely rare to find an M-8 with original Holster and Flares.
