US WW2 Army Air Force C-1 Autoplilot Gyro Plastic Cover B-17 Bomber Training

For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Army Air Force C-1 Autopilot Gyroscope for the B-17 Bomber. This Gyro is unusual in that the top metal cover has been removed and replaced with a clear plastic cover. This appears to have been period done, and i assume it was used as a training tool. The edges of the clear plastic cover have some breaks and cracks, but the Gyro is mostly covered. The cover also shows some scuffs and scratches. The Gyro has a great maker's tag from Minneapolis Honeywell Reg Co. The Gyro spins about as it should with movement. This is a very cool piece in a rare configuration.
