Just one of inkFrog's. Multi panel leather outer with shearling interior. Scarce variation vest not having the Shearling border along the exterior edges.
Worn by pilots and other aircrew under the leather B-3 or A-2 jackets for another layer of warmth. In very fine overall condition showing minimal period wear with a few places at the neck and on the edges having cracking but leather is still strong and supple.
No size tag or nomenclature tags. I estimate the size to be 36 or 38 as it is slightly smaller than the size 42 fabric C-3 vest I have in another listing. Early style Conmar zipper functions smoothly. From the estate of a WW2 USAAF B17 air gunner. Please see the photo reference as found on page 65 of the book "Combat Flying Clothing-Army Air Forces Clothing During WWII" by C.A next to impossible to find WW2 USAAF aviation item! Please see my other listings for the Sperry A-5 Autopilot Directional Gyroscope and Sperry Autopilot Control Box and rare late WW2 fabric C-3 vest with pile lining.
