These were used by B-17 and B-24 Aircrews. If a crew member needed to get back to the rear of the aircraft, he would disconnect his oxygen at his station and connect the D-2 tank to walk to the rear of the bomber. The cylinder is approximately 24 inches long with a diameter of 6 inches. The overall length is approximately 28 long to the end of the regulator. It is overall good condition for it's age.
The yellow paint looks very nice with bold lettering on the side. Slight bend where the regulator goes into the tank but it still has a good seal. The regulator gauge face looks good with no cracks. The "sleeve" or bag is intact with some fields repairs. Khaki color with all appropriate and Original markings that have contract numbers with 1944 and 1943 dates. Please se pictures for details and condition (the last picture is for reference only). This is a pretty Rare WWII USAAF item! It would be an excellent part of any collection!
