ORIGINAL WWII US Army Air Corps Bancroft Flighter Crusher Cap EXCELLENT Size 7

Up for sale is this incredible original WWII US Army Air Corps Flighter Crusher Cap made by Bancroft! This was found at the estate of a WWII veteran who was a Pilot and an Officer. He had many highly sought after items in his collection and this is one of his nicer pieces. This is just an excellent example of those caps and will look great in any collection! This is in excellent condition and only shows some original light wear and some age.

This has been in storage for quite a few years. Features genuine American leather which is in great shape. Also features a great large brass US Seal Insignia right on the front. This particular cap is the Flighter model manufactured by the well-known Massachusetts maker Bancroft. These caps were widely used by Fighter pilots and bomber crews on the European Theater of Operation during WW2.

The Bancroft Flighter is the king of crusher caps. It is the cap that revolutionized military headwear with the introduction of the soft, flexible, single-ply visor, ushering in an era of aces and aircrews who were identified as much by their Flighter caps as their pilot wings. This is a size 7.
