These are original WWII U. Army Air Forces A-3 Shearling Flight Pants, manufactured by I.

Spiewak & Sons, Jersey City, NJ, under Order No. This is the classic heavy sheepskin, cold-weather pant used by bomber crews, gunners, and high-altitude flight personnel during early to mid-World War II. The tag is present and readable, marked SIZE: LARGE.

They feature the correct wartime USAAF winged-star decal on the chest panel, original shearling lining, heavy leather construction, original factory suspenders, and full-length leg zippers. These are "as-found" from a pilot's kit, complete and untouched. For reference, I tried these on personally. These pants fit me just right, meaning they will comfortably fit a modern 36-38" waist, possibly up to a 40" depending on layers. WWII garment sizing is inconsistent, so this real-world fit information is extremely useful for buyers.

Please review all photos carefully. Leather shows significant age, including dry areas, surface cracking, flaking, and finish loss throughout.

Shearling lining is intact but shows age-related wear and discoloration. Suspenders are original and complete but show wear. Some panels have areas of surface loss and heavy wear, particularly on the legs and seat. Despite the wear, these remain structurally intact and display extremely well. The A-3 shearling flight pants were part of the standard cold-weather flying suit used by the U. Army Air Forces during World War II, often paired with the famous B-3 jacket. Before electrically heated suits became common, bomber crews flying at 25,000-30,000 feet relied on these thick shearling garments to survive temperatures that could plunge to -30°F to -60°F.

Spiewak & Sons was one of the most respected WWII contract manufacturers of flight gear, known for outstanding quality. Surviving wartime examples with original stenciling, original hardware, and intact labels are increasingly scarce and highly collectible.

These trousers represent a classic, iconic piece of USAAF bomber-crew equipment.
