Original WWII Jaeger Aircraft 8day Clock. AC P8 acceptance stamp, early Serial Number. This is an early 1942 production example with the desirable three-knob bottom control, layout and an exterior that remains close to original wartime condition.
EARLY AC 10's were installed in combat aircraft. KNOB FUNCTIONS LEFT-CENTER-RIGHT: LEFT: winds clock sets time and sets the day/time.
DAY-TIME (currently STUCK) CENTER: Elapsed time colored windows, fully functional. RIGHT: Flyback reset for elapsed time sweep second hand - operational. Radium-painted numerals and dials clear and glow in the dark, confirming untouched WWII authenticity.
Not tested for full 8 day function. As acquired, no repairs attempted. Despite the 80 year old natural oils used to lube the clock, which have long dried up, the Jeager still ticks after a half/wind demonstrating its quality and resilience. Used in multiple WWII aircraft including F-4U Corsair, F6F Hellcat, SBD Dauntless, TBM TBF Avenger, PBY Catalina, SB2C Helldiver PV-1 Ventura, and various P-40 Warhawk and P-38 Lighting (factory field and replacement panels). If only this clock could talk.
