The parachute pack is an original and rare WWII USAAF Group 1, Chest Type AN-6513 QAC, Parachute Pack. The pack is officially assigned serial number 42-573990 and manufactured by Hayes Manufacturing Corp, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Complete with original red D-ring, harness hook fittings, bungee cords, pilot survival booklet, and inspection log booklet that indicates being assigned to Oklahoma Army Air Depot and Hondo Army Air Field, TX. Historical background indicates that the pack was originally designed in 1942, for the USAAF and US Navy, it took the designation of an-6513, Group 1, Chest Type, Quick Attachable Chest (QAC), Red Code. Designed specific to fill the request of 8th AF flight personnel during the early stages of USAAF bombing campaign in European Theater of Operations. This pack is designed to be worn with the Group 1, Chest Type, Parachute Harness (red). This rare pack would make a great addition to anyone's aviation collection and would be hard to upgrade from its near mint overall condition. Please note that this is not a workable parachute pack.
