Interesting lot of letters from a Army Air Force soldier in training at different bases across the U. There are a total of 34 sheets of paper. He starts out each letter with "Dear Folks" and closes each letter with Love, Spud. Some of the correspondence are written on plain paper and some have the letterhead of his locations.

They include Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, Tech Training Base in Lincoln, Nebraska and Navigation Training Base in Hondo, Texas. Subject matter is all about life on base and how much he misses his family and life on the Indiana farm he is from. Unfortunately he almost never puts the date on the letters -- always just the day. So there is no way to put them in chronological order.

He writes one letter talking about waiting his orders and that he has no idea where is going to go. There are no letter about his time overseas if indeed he went there. He writes his whole address at what I think is his last stop.

Added note: I Googled his name to see if I could get more info on him. And there are more letters from him on the market. I did not get them all. If you want to get them all, search on his name. I have a large inventory of vintage paper: Some of it is in perfect shape and some is in rough condition.

Things to look out for in the photos are page yellowing, corner bumping, rips and tears, handwriting, etc. -- normal flaws in old paper. When I photograph a paper item, the first two photos are usually the front and back covers next to a ruler. This is how you can determine the size.

Please check this before asking what size the booklet or catalog is. I also try to shoot a photo of the last numbered page in the item so you can know how many pages there are. Carefully examine my studio-quality photographs. I do my best to document any flaws or issues.

I tend to go overboard in showing flaws. I also do my best to accurately describe the items I find. I basically sell As Is.

This includes outright mistakes, misrepresentations, or any errors on my part. I do not know everything about everything (don't tell my kids that please). If there is a problem please contact me via messaging and we will reach a solution.
